Shaping the Suwanee River

Suwanee Basin

The Suwanee has a big trunk and lots of little branches. The shape of the river is determined by karst at the trunk where few surface streams flow into the river. Upstream tributaries are more numerous in non karst areas. It looks like a well prunde grape vine.
