Relect Pleistocene tidal channels now high and dry in Bertie County NC

2 Types of estuary channels are visible here. Wide, sinuous tidal channels that were the main drains in the paleo sound and thin constantly curving (meandering) marsh creeks. The relect drainage features are crossed by modern drainages. Islands in the former sound are apparent as is the mainland and former ocean front beaches. I call the relect channels ghost channels.
